Extracurricular Opportunities

Discover Purpose. Build Confidence. Lead with Faith.

At Cleburne Christian Academy, learning extends beyond the classroom. Our extracurricular programs give students opportunities to grow in confidence, build friendships, develop leadership skills, and practice teamwork.

Because we are a smaller school community, our programs are intentionally designed to be accessible, relational, and meaningful. Students are encouraged to participate, try new things, and develop their gifts in an environment where they are known and supported.

Beginning in upper elementary, students can take part in athletics, leadership programs, and service opportunities that help them develop character, responsibility, and a sense of belonging within the school community.

While our offerings are appropriately scaled to our size, they provide real opportunities for students to compete, lead, serve, and grow together.

Athletics (Grades 5–12)

Athletics at Cleburne Christian Academy emphasize teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Our goal is not only to develop athletic ability but also to cultivate character and sportsmanship.

Students have opportunities to participate in seasonal team sports while representing the school and building strong connections with teammates and coaches.

Girls Volleyball

Girls volleyball has been a part of the CCA athletics program for several years and is offered in the fall for middle and high school students. The program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and competitive play while encouraging students to grow in confidence and leadership.

Basketball

Basketball is currently offered for middle school students and has previously included high school participation as well. Practices and games provide students opportunities to develop athletic skills while learning the value of teamwork, commitment, and perseverance.

Track & Field

Track and Field is launching this year for students in grades 5 and up. This program offers students the opportunity to compete in a variety of events including running, jumping, and throwing. Track provides a great entry point for students who enjoy individual challenges while still being part of a supportive team environment.

Elementary Programs (Grades K–4)

Younger students also have opportunities to participate in school activities that build excitement, school spirit, and early athletic development.

Elementary Cheer

Elementary cheer is a non-competitive program designed to encourage school spirit and support our home teams. Students enjoy learning cheers, performing at games, and building confidence as they participate alongside friends.

Elementary Soccer

Elementary soccer is being piloted this year as an introductory opportunity for younger students. The program focuses on basic skills, teamwork, and developing a love for the game in a fun and encouraging environment.

Leadership & Service

Leadership development is an important part of student life at Cleburne Christian Academy. Students are encouraged to grow in responsibility, service, and character while contributing to the school community.

Student Council

Student Council provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills while serving their peers and helping shape student life at CCA. Members help organize events, encourage school spirit, and participate in service initiatives that benefit the school and surrounding community.

National Honor Society (NHS)

National Honor Society honors students who demonstrate strong academic achievement along with leadership, service, and character. Members contribute to school initiatives and community service efforts while preparing for future academic and leadership opportunities.

A Place to Participate

At larger schools, students sometimes struggle to find their place. At CCA, our size allows more students to participate, lead, and contribute.

Whether competing in athletics, encouraging classmates, or serving in leadership roles, students are given opportunities to grow in both ability and character.
